What is checkout?
Checkout is simply the process of finalizing the customer's purchase. It displays all the information about the product the customer is acquiring and where they enter payment details to purchase that particular product.
Is there custom checkout?
Yes, the checkout page is fully integrated with Octuspay and can be customized according to your brand and identity.
Best practices for efficient checkout
An effective checkout should be simple, fast, secure, and informative, offering various payment options and a pleasant shopping experience for customers. It should include:
- Simplicity: The checkout process should be simple and easy to understand, with few necessary steps to complete the purchase.
- Visibility: It's important that it contains all information, such as costs, including the total purchase price, shipping fees, and taxes, which should be clearly displayed before the customer completes the purchase. This avoids unpleasant surprises at the end and builds trust with the customer.
- Payment options: Offer alternative payment methods that are popular and secure to meet customer preferences. This may include credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and Pix.
- Mobile process: Ensure that the checkout process is optimized for mobile devices, as many customers may be browsing and shopping on their phones. A mobile-friendly layout ensures a better user experience.
What is the importance of conducting a quality checkout?
When well-executed, checkout has a significant impact on conversion rate and customer experience. A more efficient process, for example, reduces cart abandonment rate, increases revenue, and strengthens customer confidence.
How does currency conversion work in my checkout?
Currency conversion is automatically done according to the customer's country. The system identifies from which country the customer is making the purchase through the browser and automatically converts the currency, but the customer can also choose which currency they want to make the payment in.
Are there restricted countries?

What payment methods are accepted in my checkout?
This will depend on which currency your product was registered in. If the product is registered in Brazilian Real, the accepted payment methods will be:
Credit and debit cards
Pix

If the products are registered in dollars, the only accepted payment method will be credit and debit cards. Here at Octus, we also accept the Multibanco payment method. Multibanco is a very popular electronic payment system in Portugal. It offers a variety of financial services and transactions. This payment method is exclusive to Portugal, similar to Pix here in Brazil.
